Please share this post with family and friends that may be interested in affordable advertising on Channel 44; a great chance to support children's education of a brighter future for our environment. We are excited to announce that Adelaide company LER Production will be collaborating with Channel 44 to produce the children’s television series SeaStar Rock. This will be the first local children’s series to be produced in the ABC studios since its closing in 2014! SeaStar Rock is a locally produced music and dance show for kids. It promotes marine sustainability using charismatic characters, catchy songs, and colourful costumes to explore the SeaStar Rock world. Since a successful live performance launch at the Adelaide Fringe in 2015, SeaStar Rock has been performing to thousands of children around South Australia. The live show was met with rave reviews, including a spot in the ‘Top 5 things to do with kids, Advertiser, 2015’. The SeaStar Rock television series will consist of 6 different shows, each 10 minutes long containing multiple characters, songs, dance, animation and set design. It will be aired weekly at prime time for family entertainment. We are extremely excited to be working with talented Channel 44 Producer Lauren Hillman who has considerable experience at Channel 9, ABC and Nova Radio and has a multitude of awards to her name. ![]() SeaStar Rock Blog – March 2016 Success at the Fringe The Adelaide Fringe is the world's second-largest annual arts festival, and the largest in the Southern Hemisphere, held in the South Australian capital of Adelaide. The majority of Adelaide knows between February and March, Adelaide is the place to be. This is the second year running where SeaStar Rock has been part of the Adelaide Fringe. SeaStar Rock had the pleasure of holding their shows at the Deluxe Tent at The Garden of Unearthly Delights, which is in Adelaide’s east parkland’s. To describe, the Garden of Unearthly Delights is an enchanted land full of fun, games, rides, attractions, foods, stalls and shows. You can feel the exciting energy in the air. Vast amounts of people with their families come and relax at the Garden of Unearthly Delights and usually see a show. People’s excitement from the garden flows into the shows and sensationally did we see excitement flowing into the Deluxe Tent. Every show was full of high numbers of interactive families with their children singing, dancing and playing games with the SeaStar Rockers, as they helped navigate sustainability of our oceans. SeaStar Rock is original, energetic, fun music and dance for kids, promoting marine sustainability. Every show had the 'Cha Cha' with Chino Crab claw, tap dancing with Terrance Turtle, playing 'Seaweed Statues' and dancing the waves with Surfing Snapping Starfish, as he saves the seas from plastic bag monsters. The sound and lighting at the Deluxe Tent was attention grabbing which made the shows even more spectacular. A big thank-you to all the wonderful performers and costume officers. SeaStar Rock also had the pleasure of performing at the fringe club for a private function, which went exceedingly well. At the end of our shows and through social media we received an abundance of positive responses. There was a line of children wanting photos with the SeaStar Rockers, buying and signing of our CDs to sing, dance and play at home. There were some fans who came up to the Garden of Unearthly Delights three times to see the show! So fantastic! Another fan said, “I will certainly recommend your fabulous show to all my friends with kids ☺”. Another fan said, “Fantastic show today! We had the CD playing on the way home! We'll have to get you over to Kangaroo Island one day to perform!” Great positive vibes. SeaStar Rock will need to start travelling around Australia soon. Thank-you to everyone for the wonderful support and feedback of SeaStar Rock! What is next with SeaStar Rock is we will be recording more songs this year and also stay tuned for more shows that are currently being booked around Adelaide. Have a Great Day! Costumes, costumes, costumes. The Seastar Rockers are famous for them. Full body suits transform the all-singing, all-dancing team of performers into the assorted creatures of the deep. Most spectacularly attired is Harriet the Hammerhead shark. But there is also Supreme Stingray, Daphne Dolphin, Pirate Wally the Walrus and, of course, dancing penguins, one of whom is a Hipster. The music is loud and easy on the ears. There are myriad catchy songs which start off on the theme of who is who, i.e. "I am Daphne Dolphin". The lyrics are straightforward, reiterating characteristics of sea creatures and, in some cases, advising on some of the environmental perils of the sea. There are jokes. The cast not only performs in chorus lineups and solos but moves around among the children. As for the children, they stand beneath the stage and do all the dances. Some of young ones don't stop bopping for the full 45 minutes of the show. Some of the older ones are busy working out which performer has changed into which costume. Mums and dads are just happy to see the kids having fun with an anthropomorphic taste of natural history. That's something for everyone, a wholesome bit of enviro-entertainment. Furthermore, it’s a local company well worth supporting. By Samela Harris Watch the SeaStar Rock superstars in actions; Elyse Adams, Lauren Clark, Tim Ennis and John Castine. Thank you to the performers, The Publishers , Tim Carlier and his filming team, the incredible sound and lighting guys and everyone who helped to make this fabulous shoot happen. Enjoy!

http://gardenofunearthlydelights.com.au/tickets/performances.php?eventId=7152:1364 The SeaStar Rockers absolutely loved dancing with the country kids of Leigh Creek and head lining with Chunky Custard! Cha Cha Crab Claw, Daphne Dolphin and Harriet Hammershark are all getting make overs before Christmas and they can't wait to show these off at the Queen Adelaide Club and Publishers Hotel this weekend! Santa has filled up loads of stockings with SeaStar Rock CD's so make sure you get in quick before it's too late. To finish, what part of a fish weighs the most? ........ their scales.
